Establishment of Nihon Vinylon Co., Ltd.
Established by Katakura Industries Co., Ltd. to commercialize technology researched and developed by Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd.

1963 September

Completion of factory in Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture
Constructed on a 150,000 square-meter site along the Oi River

1963 October

Commencement of operations

1966 April

Received the Okochi Memorial Technology Prize
Recognized for highly original technology

1968 May

Completion of spinning machines expansion
Daily spinning capacity increased to 9.5 tons

1970 August

Reorganization as Nitivy Co., Ltd.

1972 August

Commenced joint research with the Research Institute for Polymers and Textiles, Agency of Industrial Science and Technology

1991 May

Commenced production and sale of alumina filament

1998 December

Certification and registration of Solvron^™ water-soluble yarn with OEKO-TEX^® Standard 100

2009 April

Relocated head office to Ginza, Tokyo

Relocated head office to Akashi-cho
